Bee Keeping (Apiculture)

This course introduces learners to the principles and practices of bee keeping (apiculture) as a sustainable agricultural enterprise. It equips learners with knowledge and practical skills in bee biology, apiary establishment, hive management, honey harvesting, pest and disease control, and value addition of bee products. Emphasis is placed on environmental conservation, occupational safety, and entrepreneurship.

The course is designed to prepare learners for self-employment, income generation, and improved agricultural livelihoods through modern and traditional bee keeping methods. Learners will engage in both theory and hands-on practical activities aligned with Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) requirements.

This course covers the production and management of ruminant animals. It focuses on competencies in breeding, feeding, parasite and disease control, routine management practices, and marketing of ruminant products. Learners will acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to manage ruminant livestock effectively, while maintaining health, productivity, and safety standards.
